Man tries to shoot his wife, shoots and kills himself instead

MISSION - A couple's fight ends with one injured and one dead. It all started at the couples' home. Police say the woman ran out of the house and got inside her car. That's when her husband walked out and shot her two times. The woman sped off looking for help and that's when she ended up at a car dealership just off the expressway. An employee called police and requested an ambulance.

The woman told police she had been shot by her husband and that he was still at the house. When police arrived, they tried getting him out of the house, but the man refused and he took matters into his own hands. He shot and killed himself.

Police say their 15-year-old daughter was inside the home during the incident. They say she seemed frantic and scared. They are currently working to get her side of the story. Investigators are also talking to the victim to find out exactly what happened. She's recovering at the McAllen Medical Center and is reportedly in stable condition.
