PSJA ISD Students Donate Goods for Hurricane Ike Victims

PSJA ISD T-STEM Early College High School students collected and donated food, clothing and toys to the Pharr Police Department on Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 for the victims of Hurricane Ike.

Raquel Salinas, Social Studies teacher at the campus, encouraged her students to do something for the people that lost or had damage done to their homes by the hurricane.

The students decided to not only collected food and water, but also clothing (adult and children's sizes) and toys for children that no longer have any. Pharr Police Officer, Michael Mata, was honored to be picking up the items from the students and thanked them for all their hard work.

Over 15 boxes of goods were donated.
